Bishop Joseph Sullivan

Bishop Joseph Sullivan is Vicar for Human Services and Regional Bishop for the 62 parishes of the Brooklyn West Vicariate.

Bishop Sullivan has played various roles in Catholic Charities including Executive Director and Executive Vice President of the Board of Trustees. He is also Secretary to the Ordinary for Charities. In 1980, he was named Auxiliary Bishop by Pope John Paul II.

Currently, Bishop Sullivan is the Chairman of the Board of Sisters of Mercy Health Systems of St. Louis. He is a Board Member of Milbank Memorial Fund, Catholic Medical Mission Board and the National Pastoral Life Center. His honors include a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Greater New York Hospital Association.

Bishop Sullivan, ordained a priest in 1956, earned a Masters degree in social work at Fordham University and a Masters in public administration at New York University.
