John T. O'Connell
John T. O'Connell is President and CEO of the Health and Welfare Council of Long Island. In his tenure, Mr. O'Connell has been a strong advocate on behalf of the region's vulnerable families and individuals. Among other accomplishments, he created the Long Island Child Health Plus Consortium, and organized the Nassau Fight for Families Coalition.
Mr. O'Connell also serves as the Co-Chair of the Nassau County Executive's Advisory Committee on Human Services.
Mr. O'Connell is a graduate of St. Mary's Seminary and University in Baltimore, Maryland, and received an M.A. in planning and policy analysis from Adelphi University.
