Robert Doar

Robert Doar served as Commissioner of the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA). He had previously served as Executive Deputy Commissioner of OTDA. Prior to his service as Executive Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Doar was New York State Deputy Commissioner of Child Support for nearly five years.

Mr. Doar has been instrumental in making New York State a national leader in welfare reform, achieving a 63 percent caseload reduction since 1994. In the private sector, he held the position of Assistant Vice President at the First National Bank of Hudson Valley.

Mr. Doar is a Princeton University graduate. He was also honored as the 1998 recipient of the "Golden Heart" Award from the New York State Association of Children for the Enforcement of Support for children and families.
